Established and registered by the Ministry of Civil Affairs of P.R.C in 1988, China electronics Chamber of Commerce (CECC) is a national corporate organization of electronic industry incorporated on a voluntary basis with companies and organizations dealing in electronic products across China. With the independent corporate status, CECC is under the guidance of the Ministry of Information Industry on its business development. Nowadays, CECC is one of the largest organizations in the circulation of electronic information products.

After more than a decade of development, CECC has a total of 11 local branches and 11 special committees, serving more than 4000 members including direct affiliated members, members of local branches and members of special committees.

In 2004, the annual sales value realized by the CECC members amounted to more than 800 billion (In RMB), accounting for some one third of total sales value gained by China's electronic industry as a whole for the year.

Major purposes of CECC are: sticking to the policy of reform and opening-up; implementing regulations and policies of the State on the development of electronic information industry; promoting the production of electronic products and the continuous growth of domestic and international trade in line with the principle of developing the socialist market economy in China; enhancing the economic strength of the members, expanding the social influence of CECC; protecting legal rights and interests of the members and fostering a favorable market environment for the production and operation of the electronic information industry.

Major tasks of CECC are: playing the role of a intermediary between the government departments and CECC members; safeguarding the legal rights and interests of the members; duly reflecting opinions and demands of the members to the government; coordinating the interests among the members; helping the members to promote their products; eliminating vicious competitions; transmitting the regulations and policies of the government; assisting the government in guiding and coordinating the operation and sales of electronic information products as well as providing consultations and services in this field; supervising the members in correctly implementing laws and regulations formulated by the State.
Through years of efforts and development, CECC has gradually formed its advantages in the following aspects and is now capable of providing services for all its members as well as domestic and international companies wishing to cooperate with CECC:

■CECC occupies an essential position in China’s electronic industry and enjoys great prestige both at home and abroad. With efforts of thousands of its members, CECC has established an electronic information products sales network covering all parts of China, and is capable of serving any organization in products purchasing, agent, manufacturing and/or related business.

■As an important member of World Electronic Forum (WEF), CECC is proudly sharing close relationships with worldwide electronic associations such as: EIA - Electronic Industries Alliance (US), CEA - Consumer Electronics Association (US), FIEEC - Federation Industry Electric, and Electronic, Communication (France). AEEMA - Australia Electrical & Electronic Manufacturers' Association (Australia), and JEITA - Japan Electronics & Information Technology Industries Association (Japan), etc. Through those associations, CECC is able to provide members with convenient channels to the international market. Each year, CECC organizes different kinds of visiting trade missions to foreign countries to help its members investigate the overseas electronic information products market, participate in international exhibitions and explore global business opportunities.

■As an assistant to the government departments and a bridge that links the government and enterprises, CECC assists its members in reporting their demands to the government, safeguarding their interests, and coordinating relationships among members, serving its members practically and conscientiously.

■CECC is willing to provide its members with prompt, enormous and accurate industrial information. It offers monthly CECC Members Newsletter to all its members for free, and annually holds "Electronic Information Product Market Forum" with a publication of Analysis and Prediction on Electronic Information Product Market. CECC has also set up a website providing online business services. Besides, it launched Consumer Electronics Review in 2002, which has been receiving high praises from industry insiders.

■CECC has gathered a team of professionals with many years of working experience in the electronic information industry, who are highly creative and are in the prime of their lives. These professionals are capable of providing services of consultation on the decision-making and help to execute the cooperative projects in the shortest possible time. They can also provide the members and enterprises with beneficial services of consultation and assistance in terms of strengthening their management and operation.

■CECC is one of the first corporate organizations authorized by the Ministry of Commerce to have the right to hold international exhibitions in China. CECC frequently holds various exhibitions, forums, products promotion conferences and seminars. It is capable of providing its members and enterprises with services of organizing conferences of various types and assisting enterprises in promoting sales of products.

Through more than ten years of efforts, CECC has transformed itself into a corporate organization with credit, strength and capability of offering comprehensive services. CECC is willing to cooperate with all Chinese and foreign electronic associations and enterprises in the electronic information industry, and to make contributions to the development of the electronic information industry in China.
